Beyond the mechanical issues with the fire tenders, Commander Anaglate highlighted the lack of adequate hydrants in the region, making firefighting efforts even more difficult.
“Without reliable water supply points, our firefighters face an uphill battle when responding to fires,” he lamented.
The shortage of functional fire trucks and insufficient water access have left the Oti Fire Service in a precarious situation, endangering lives and property.
Commander Anaglate has, therefore, called on authorities to take immediate action to restore the fire tenders and improve access to hydrants, stressing that the safety of the region depends on a fully equipped and responsive fire service.
