Residents of Nkwanta South in the Oti Region have erupted in celebration following the nomination of Joseph Antwi as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area.
President John Dramani Mahama’s selection of Antwi has been met with widespread excitement, with many viewing him as a beacon of hope for the municipality’s future.
Joseph Antwi, a Health Information Officer at Nkwanta St. Joseph Catholic Hospital, has a rich background in public service.
He previously served as the NDC’s constituency communications officer, is a well-known radio personality, and currently holds the position of election director for the Nkwanta South NDC.
His extensive experience in community engagement and governance has fueled optimism about his leadership.
Residents who spoke to Adom News praised Antwi’s deep connection with the people and his commitment to transparency and accountability. Many believe his leadership will drive meaningful development in the municipality.
Family and friends gathered in large numbers to celebrate his nomination, highlighting his strong ties to the community and his dedication to service.
In his first public remarks following the announcement, Antwi expressed gratitude to President Mahama and the NDC for their confidence in him.
He called for unity and collaboration among residents, emphasizing the need to work together for the progress of Nkwanta South.
“Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous community,” he stated, urging ethnic groups and traditional authorities to put aside their differences and focus on collective growth.
He also appealed to assembly members to give him a 100% endorsement during his confirmation, assuring them that he is ready to lead efforts toward lasting development.
