Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has called on Ghanaians to throw their full support behind the team as they gear up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Following a disappointing run in 2024, the senior national team is determined to turn things around in their upcoming matches against Chad and Madagascar in Matchday 5 and 6 of the qualifiers.
In an interview with 3Sports, Addo, who was reappointed on a three-year contract in March 2024, expressed his gratitude to the fans who have stood by the team despite their struggles.
He encouraged them to show up in large numbers for the crucial fixture on Friday.
“A big respect for those who are supporting us. We are calling on your support. We thank you for your support,” the 49-year-old said.
“Even though things were bad, we were really grateful for each and everyone who supported us. Like I said, it’s not only about us, it’s about all of us,” he added.
Ghana currently sits second in Group I with nine points. They will first take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium before travelling to Morocco to face Madagascar on Monday, March 24.
With qualification to the World Cup at stake, the Black Stars will be aiming for two crucial victories to strengthen their position in the group standings.
