Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has assured fans that the team is fully prepared to secure a crucial victory against Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana, four-time African champions, will face Chad on Friday, March 20, at the Accra Sports Stadium in their Matchday 5 fixture.
Ayew, who will lead the team in the absence of his elder brother, Andre Ayew, expressed confidence after the squad’s second training session in Accra on Tuesday.
“I want to thank everyone for coming to show your support. My teammates and I can assure you that we are ready for the battle. We will give our all. I know the first task is on Friday, and we will make sure that we get the three points,” Ayew stated.
Acknowledging the team’s current challenges, Ayew remained optimistic about turning things around.
“We know that we are in a difficult situation, but we will turn it around. And when I see you guys standing here, I know that it is going to be a positive result on Friday.
“So, I want to thank you guys on behalf of my teammates, and hopefully, on Friday, we will all be happy about the result,” he added.
Following the Chad match, the Black Stars will travel to Morocco to take on Madagascar on Monday, March 24, in their Matchday 6 encounter.
Ghana currently sits second in Group I with nine points as they continue their push for World Cup qualification.
