After nearly three decades without a Mankrado, the Sokode Traditional Council in the Ho Central Municipality of the Volta Region is set to outdoor Mr. Selorm Forster Amevor as its new Mankrado.
He will assume the title Togbe Wusu Krakrani III, succeeding his late father, Togbe Wusu II.
The installation ceremony, scheduled for March 22, 2025, at Sokode Gbogame, marks a historic moment for the traditional council.
Speaking to Adom News, Mr. Lawrence Dzapete, a cousin of the Mankrado-elect, highlighted the significance of the installation.
He explained that the 29-year vacancy had hindered the enstoolment of new chiefs, as every newly installed chief must swear a traditional oath to the Mankrado.
Mr. Winfred Kwamla, the stool father (Zikpitor), also expressed joy over the long-awaited installation, noting that the absence of a Mankrado had significantly impacted the council’s traditional leadership.
Born on March 29, 1975, Togbe Wusu Krakrani III completed his O and A Levels at Kpando Senior High School (KPANSEC) in 1994 and 1996, respectively.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and an Executive MBA from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He is currently pursuing a degree in Business Risk Management at Boston University, USA.
His professional experience includes roles at Women in the Lord’s Vineyard in Accra, Standard Chartered Bank, Coca-Cola, and his current position as Territory Sales Controller at Scancom Ghana Limited (MTN Ghana).
The installation of Togbe Wusu Krakrani III is expected to restore traditional governance in Sokode and facilitate the smooth enstoolment of chiefs in the area.
