Agyemang-Badu urges Ghanaians to support Black Stars, end blame game

-

Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has called on Ghanaians to move past the blame game and rally behind the Black Stars as they prepare for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

The national team has faced intense criticism following their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), finishing bottom of their group with three losses and three draws from six matches.

With the focus now on the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Agyemang-Badu is urging unity and renewed support.

“No time for blame games anymore; let us reset Black Stars,” he told Connect FM.

He also emphasized the need to respect Jordan Ayew’s appointment as the team’s new captain.

“Jordan Ayew is the captain of the Black Stars; let us respect that and move on,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars have officially opened camp in Accra and will hold their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Mohammed Kudus, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Jojo Wollacott, Antoine Semenyo, and Thomas Partey have all arrived in camp.

Ghana will face Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before traveling to Morocco to take on Madagascar on Monday, March 24.

The Black Stars currently sit second in Group I with nine points, level with leaders Comoros.
