There’s no freeze on employment – Finance Minister insists

-

Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has dismissed claims that the government has imposed a freeze on public sector employment.

Speaking in an interview with Channel One TV on Wednesday, March 12, he refuted speculations suggesting a halt in recruitment across various sectors.

“There is no freeze on employment,” he stated emphatically, assuring the public that recruitment would continue based on the country’s economic needs.

His remarks come amid growing concerns over job opportunities in the public sector, with many questioning whether the government has restricted new hires.

Dr Ato Forson further stressed the government’s commitment to job creation and improving employment conditions, particularly for the youth.

He noted that key sectors such as health and education would continue to receive the necessary personnel to sustain essential public services.

The Finance Minister’s clarification aligns with broader economic policies aimed at strengthening Ghana’s workforce and fostering growth.
