I felt assaulted – Nhyiaeso MP defends causing arrest of activist Ralph

-

Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Stephen Amoah, has justified his decision to cause the arrest of activist Ralph following a confrontation at the forecourt of Parliament House.

He explained that he felt assaulted and threatened by Ralph’s actions but kept his composure.

The MP stated that assault is not only about physical harm but also includes situations where a person feels imminent danger, adding that there was clear evidence of such a situation.

According to Stephen Amoah, Ralph first confronted him publicly under the guise of requesting an interview.

Despite granting the interview, the MP said the activist continued to tail him, a situation he said made him feel uneasy and suspected that someone might have been influencing Ralph to harm him.

Fearing for his safety, he decided to report the issue to the police, leading to Ralph’s arrest.

The MP further revealed that the case had already been brought to the attention of Parliament’s marshals, making it necessary for the police to take the activist’s statement.

However, Stephen Amoah indicated his willingness to forgive Ralph if he showed remorse and apologized.
