Medeama SC coach hails team’s comeback win against Bechem United

-

Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko insists his side fully deserved their hard-fought 3-1 victory over Bechem United in their return to league action.

In a Matchday 23 encounter at the TNA Park on Sunday, the Yellow and Mauve overcame an early setback after Bechem United took the lead, responding with a dominant comeback to seal the win.

This match marked Medeama’s return to action following a five-week break due to the tragic passing of Francis Frimpong, also known as Nana Pooley.

Reflecting on the performance, Tanko commended his players’ resilience and teamwork.

“We had a very good game against a well-organized team, and I think in the first half, we should have scored two or three more goals. But in the end, it is a deserved win for us,” Tanko said after the match.

Tanko also emphasized the advantage of having a full squad available for the game.

“We have an almost full house; all the players are on board, and we had time to train together for a week. I think that contributed to our great performance today because everyone who played did very well.

“It’s good to have all the players available, and definitely, it’s going to be a good season for us,” he added.

The victory lifts Medeama SC to sixth place on the league table with 32 points, level with Nations FC after 20 games.

Medeama will now turn their attention to an away fixture against Nations FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium on Sunday as they aim to maintain their winning momentum.
