Ofori-Atta seeks early resolution with Special Prosecutor

-

Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has expressed readiness for an early resolution with the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

He stated that the OSP had proposed a meeting in June after removing him from the wanted list as part of an ongoing investigation.

The probe focuses on various financial dealings, including the Strategic Mobilisation-GRA contract, the termination of the ECG-BXC contract, payments related to the National Cathedral, procurement of ambulances, and the use of the Tax Refund Account.

However, in a letter through his lawyers, Mr. Ofori-Atta emphasized the need to engage his legal representatives ahead of the proposed timeline to resolve the matter swiftly.

“I pray that the Special Prosecutor will agree to meet with my legal team so we can respond to his investigation, on the now five cases, in order to resolve the situation expeditiously, and well before the June appointment,” he stated.

He also acknowledged the parliamentary apology for the security raid on his home and the Special Prosecutor’s decision to rescind the wanted notice against him.
