In response to the devastating tidal waves that have hit communities in Ketu South, significant donations have been made to support affected residents.
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has donated 250 bags of 25kg rice, 50 boxes of cooking oil, and 1,000 bags of sachet water to provide immediate relief to displaced families.
Business mogul Ibrahim Mahama has also contributed GH¢100,000 to support relief efforts, demonstrating his commitment to assisting those affected by the disaster.
Additionally, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has provided essential relief items to ensure access to food and water for victims.
During a visit to Agavedzi on Thursday, March 6, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama assessed the extent of the destruction and assured victims of the government’s commitment to providing the necessary support.
He noted that Ketu South MP and Minister for Tourism, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, who is currently on a national assignment, would oversee the distribution of the relief items upon her return over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Members of Parliament from the Volta Caucus have also contributed an additional GH¢100,000 to the relief efforts.
The collective support from government officials, private individuals, and organizations highlights a unified effort to help affected communities recover from the disaster.
