John Boadu eyes NPP Chairmanship [Audio]

-

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, John Boadu, has expressed interest in contesting for the position of National Chairman in the party’s next elections.

According to the former Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), several party members who believe in his leadership have urged him to run.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Mr. Boadu revealed he is giving serious thought to the suggestion.

“There are a lot of proposals for me. Some believe that with the level I have reached and my background, if I provide guidance to the other executives as Chairman, it will be worth it. So when it happens that way, I will consider,” he stated.

Mr. Boadu emphasized his qualifications for the role, adding that few could match his sacrifices and experience in the party.

He further disclosed that while some people have suggested he re-contest for the General Secretary position, he has ruled it out entirely.

“I am tired of the General Secretary role, and the insults are too much,” he added.

John Boadu has risen through the ranks of the NPP, starting as a polling station chairman and later serving as General Secretary. He is also the longest-serving officer at the NPP headquarters.

In 2022, he sought reelection but lost to his successor, Justin Frimpong Koduah.
