The National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo, has clarified that the group of supporters who stormed the party headquarters were not there to seek employment.
Opare Addo, speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, acknowledged the need for jobs but emphasized that the protesters’ main purpose was to demand answers from the party leadership.
“It was not in respect to jobs. We are a political party, and some things happened, and people were not happy about it. But the young men and women were not there for jobs because do we share jobs at the party office for them to go there? We shouldn’t create that impression because our youth are enlightened,” he explained.
Opare Addo further stressed that while some individuals may have wanted jobs, the core mission of the gathering was to seek answers from the party leadership. He added that after the leadership satisfied their demands, the protesters left, and the issue was resolved.
He urged party members to remain calm and assured that the Mahama-led administration is working diligently to serve the best interests of the nation.
