Veteran music producer Fred Kyei Mensah (Fredyma) has weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding Okomfour Kwadee, urging media personality Hammer Nti to allow the musician’s family, particularly his mother, to handle his affairs.
Fredyma emphasized that no one can love a child more than their own mother and suggested that Hammer Nti should respect the wishes of Kwadee’s family by stepping back from actively managing his recovery and career.
“Since Kwadee’s mother says she doesn’t want to see him around her son anymore, Hammer cannot be more holy than the Pope or cry more than the bereaved. If something unfortunate happens to Kwadee while in his custody, those currently supporting him will be the same people to blame him,” Fredyma stated.
He advised Hammer Nti to focus on his own life while still supporting Kwadee from a distance, warning that direct involvement could escalate tensions.
Fredyma’s comments follow a heated exchange on UTV’s United Showbiz, where Kwadee’s mother accused Hammer Nti of using her son for performances rather than prioritizing his full recovery, which she believes worsens his condition.
The debate has divided entertainment industry players and fans, with some commending Hammer Nti’s efforts while others argue that Kwadee’s family should take full responsibility for his well-being.
Kwadee’s long-standing health challenges have been a concern for years, with various industry figures offering support at different times. However, this latest controversy raises questions about the best way to ensure the musician’s long-term welfare.
