The Assin Fosu District Court, presided over by His Worship Abdul Majid Iliasu, has granted bail to Esi Affumwaa, an Akpeteshie seller and farmer, in the sum of GH¢10,000 for allegedly biting the testicles of a customer.

The bail conditions require two sureties, one of whom must be a resident of the court’s jurisdiction.

Esi Affumwaa, 48, a resident of Assin Wurakese Camp in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region, allegedly bit the testicle of Karim Osman, 36, causing severe injuries and bleeding.

Prosecution Inspector Matilda Osaah Buabeng presented the case, stating that the incident occurred on Wednesday, February 26, 2024, at approximately 4:30 pm.

According to the prosecutor, the victim, Osman Karim, a farmer, went to the accused person’s house to purchase a cigarette.

A dispute arose over a debt of Gh¢2.40p, which led to a heated confrontation. The accused allegedly attacked the complainant, hitting his head with a piece of firewood and biting his testicle, resulting in a deep cut and severe bleeding.

The complainant reported the case, and the accused was subsequently arrested. During interrogation, the accused admitted to causing harm to the complainant.

However, in court, the accused pleaded guilty with an explanation, stating that she did not bite the scrotum but rather acted in self-defense by squeezing the testicle after the complainant caused her to fall.

The case has since been adjourned to March 13, 2024.
