The Oti Regional Minister, John Gyapong Kwadwo, and the Oti Regional Security Coordinating Council (REGSEC) have engaged chiefs in Nkwanta South to address recent disturbances in the area.
As part of the Minister’s familiarization tour, the meeting aimed at fostering collaboration between traditional leaders and security agencies to restore peace and stability.
The unrest in Nkwanta South has resulted in the loss of over five lives and the destruction of several properties.
Addressing the chiefs, Gyapong Kwadwo stressed the need for unity and cooperation among traditional leaders to promote regional development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence is key to resolving local challenges and attracting investments.
He urged the chiefs to set aside their differences and work together for the greater good of the community, highlighting that a united front is crucial for the sustainable progress of Nkwanta and the Oti Region.
In response, the chiefs pledged their commitment to ensuring lasting peace, acknowledging its significance in fostering development and improving livelihoods in the area.
