SONA 2025: Mahama urges Minority to participate in National Economic Dialogue

-

President John Mahama has called on the Minority in Parliament to participate in the upcoming National Economic Dialogue, scheduled for March.

Speaking during the 2025 State of the Nation Address on Thursday, February 27, he emphasized that the government’s goal is to ensure shared prosperity for all Ghanaians.

“As part of our 120-day social contract, we have set up a planning committee to organize the dialogue, which will assess the state of the economy and build consensus on key policies to address the ongoing economic crisis,” he said.

Mahama added that the discussions will help shape a homegrown fiscal consolidation program and identify essential structural reforms to reset the economy.

“This dialogue is expected to discuss the state of the economy and reach a consensus on key policies needed to address the devastating economic crisis confronting us. It will support the development of a homegrown fiscal consolidation program and highlight key structural reforms and policy priorities essential for resetting the economy and creating prosperity for all our people.

“I hope the Minority will show love for the country and participate in the national dialogue, unlike the boycott of the Senchi Forum in 2014. Together, we shall build the Ghana we want,” he added.
