Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has emphasized that the ongoing FA Cup serves as a foundation for ensuring smooth operations in the Ghana Premier League and Division One League.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite Show with host Prof. E.K. Wallace, he acknowledged the unfortunate passing of Kotoko fan Nana Pooley but insisted that football activities must continue with the right security measures in place.
“We didn’t expect the tragic death of Nana Pooley, and we are all in mourning. But in life, what matters is how you respond to situations. Division One League is still ongoing, and the MTN FA Cup is a different competition, even though some Premier League clubs participate in it,” Wilson Arthur stated.
He assured that necessary safety measures are being implemented to ensure a secure and competitive atmosphere for all teams involved.
“The most important thing is putting the right structures in place for smooth operations. Everything we do in the FA Cup will eventually happen to the Premier League and Division One.”
