The Ghana Police Service has refuted allegations circulating on social media that it has neglected Police Inspector, Alfred N. Kuuzaa, who is currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital(KATH) after sustaining gunshot wounds.
In a press release dated February 21, 2025, the Police clarified that Inspector Kuuzaa was attacked while returning from the December 7, 2024, general elections duty at Atebubu in the Bono East Region.
They assured the public that he has received full medical care, including successful surgeries, all covered under the Police Emergency Medical Intervention Fund (PERMIF).
The statement further highlighted that the Ashanti Regional Police Director of Welfare has been actively supporting Inspector Kuuzaa’s family and serving as the liaison between them and the Police Service.
The Police Service strongly dismissed the allegations of neglect, urging the public to disregard such claims.
“We take this opportunity to wish our colleague a speedy recovery and salute all Police officers who continue to put their lives on the line to ensure that our country remains at peace,” the statement concluded.
