The Nigerian film industry has been plunged into mourning following the sudden death of popular movie director, Rotimi Raji, widely known as Genius.
Reports indicate that the filmmaker slumped and died in his bathroom just a day after the Valentine’s Day celebration.
Raji, who lived alone, was discovered by a concerned neighbor who had repeatedly called out to him without getting a response.
Upon noticing an open window, the neighbor peeped inside and was met with the tragic sight of Raji’s lifeless body on the floor.
Confirming the heartbreaking news, actor Lanre Adediwura took to social media to mourn the late director.
“Till we meet again my friend, @rotimiraji. Thank you for blessing the film industry with your exceptional talent. Every moment you captured with the lens will speak after you. Rest on, champ,” he wrote.
Raji was known for his creative direction and cinematography, contributing significantly to Nollywood’s storytelling through his work behind the camera.
His death has left colleagues and fans devastated, with tributes pouring in to celebrate his impactful career and legacy.
