Kissi Agyebeng’s management style must be scrutinised – Kpebu to OSP

-

Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has urged Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng to account for his handling of high-profile corruption investigations, citing concerns over delays in prosecution.

Kpebu questioned Agyebeng’s management style, particularly the pace of investigations, and called for greater scrutiny.

His remarks follow the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) declaration on February 12 that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is a suspect in four major corruption cases, including the National Cathedral project and Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML) contracts.

At a press briefing that same day, Agyebeng announced that Ofori-Atta was now a wanted person and must return immediately for questioning, warning that legal measures could be taken to enforce compliance.

Speaking on Channel One TV, Kpebu insisted that Agyebeng must explain his approach to managing cases, particularly the delays in prosecuting Ofori-Atta.

“Kissi Agyebeng’s management style must be seriously scrutinized. He must come and account for his management style. We cannot continue to just give him support.

“Those days where you will just come and say Akufo-Addo [former President] is hindering the work are over. If we’re to do that, a lot of things will go under the carpet. I’m not satisfied with the pace of work,” he stated.
