NDC member petitions leadership over Jasikan MCE vetting process

-

A concerned member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Buem-Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region has petitioned the party’s national executives to establish an independent committee to review the vetting process for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position.

The petitioner, Aaron Aniewu, raised concerns about transparency and fairness, citing perceived irregularities in the selection process.

Speaking to Adom News in Baglo, a community in the Jasikan Municipality, he stressed the need for a credible and inclusive vetting process to prevent internal divisions that could affect the party’s unity and electoral prospects.

Mr. Aniewu specifically pointed to a potential conflict of interest involving one of the shortlisted nominees, Parke-Davis Magyigbe, who is the father of the Regional Minister and also serves as an assistant to Buem MP, Kofi Iddie Adams.

He alleged bias in the process, claiming that the Regional Minister, Gyapong Kudjo, openly endorsed Magyigbe during the vetting.

To ensure fairness and party cohesion, Mr. Aniewu is calling for an immediate independent review of the selection process to guarantee neutrality in choosing the next MCE for Jasikan.
