The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has officially declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta wanted and a fugitive.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng revealed that Mr. Ofori-Atta is a suspect in four high-profile corruption investigations.
These cases include matters related to the National Cathedral project, Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML), and two undisclosed investigations.
Mr. Agyebeng stated that the former Minister, who is reportedly in the United States for medical treatment, must return to Ghana immediately for interrogation.
He further noted that Mr. Ofori-Atta’s lawyers have indicated uncertainty regarding his return date.
However, the Special Prosecutor warned that failure to comply would lead to steps being taken to compel his return.
