32-year-old businessman wins Western Regional Council of State election

Maxwell Boakye, a Tarkwa-based businessman, has emerged victorious in the Western Regional Council of State election, securing a decisive win with 17 out of 28 votes in the first round.

At just 32 years old, Boakye, who hails from Asankragua, is a gold trader. He outperformed eight other candidates in the race.

His closest contender, Akwasi Nsiah-Awuah, garnered 10 votes, while Adjei Clement secured a single vote. The remaining six candidates failed to receive any votes.

Following his win, Boakye expressed his gratitude to the delegates for entrusting him with the responsibility of representing the region on the Council of State.

He emphasized the importance of youth involvement in governance and policymaking and pledged to advocate for the interests of the Western Region at both regional and national levels.
