One person has been reported dead, with five others in critical condition after gunmen attacked a bus traveling from Bawku to Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
Reports suggest the bus was under military escort but was ambushed by the attackers.
Accra-based Citi News reported that the victims were rushed to the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga for urgent medical attention.
The cause of the attack is not immediately known, but it has been linked to the protracted Bawku conflict.
This latest attack has raised the death toll to 46 following the resurgence of the conflict in October 2024.
