Woman, 23, slumps and dies while dancing at sister’s wedding

A 23-year-old woman has died after suffering a heart attack while dancing at her sister’s wedding in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha, officials said on Sunday.

The incident, purported videos of which have surfaced on social media, occurred at a resort where the wedding festivities were underway, according to a report by news agency IANS.

The woman has been identified as Parinita Jain, an Indore resident who had traveled to Vidisha to attend her cousin’s wedding.

While dancing to a Bollywood song on stage during the ceremony, Parinita suddenly collapsed in front of over 200 guests, the report said. Before anyone could assist her, she had already stopped breathing.

Family members, including doctors, attempted to revive her with CPR, but she did not respond.

She was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Parinita, an MBA graduate, lived with her parents in Indore’s South Tukoganj area.

An official cited in the report revealed that one of Parinita’s younger brothers had also died of a heart attack at the age of 12.

This tragic incident adds to a growing number of cases where people have collapsed while dancing at social events, with similar occurrences being reported on social media last year.
