The newly appointed Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has revealed that President John Dramani Mahama has assured him of unwavering support in his new role.
Adams, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for the Buem constituency, made this known during an interview following his swearing-in ceremony at the Jubilee House on Friday.
During the ceremony, President Mahama tasked Adams with revitalizing the sports sector in Ghana, emphasizing the need to address challenges within the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as a priority.
Speaking to the press, Adams highlighted the President’s commitment to backing him throughout his tenure.
“If you noticed when I received the scroll, we had a brief exchange… He was assuring me of his full support and emphasizing his commitment to the Sports Ministry—promising to be there for me 24/7,” Adams stated.
Kofi Adams takes over from Mustapha Ussif, who served as Sports Minister from 2021 to 2024 under the previous NPP administration.
