Nkwanta South NDC bemoans neglect in Ministerial Appointments

-

The Nkwanta South branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has voiced deep concern over the apparent neglect of their constituency in recent ministerial appointments.

Speaking at a press conference, they noted that since the party’s inception in 1992, Nkwanta South has been a stronghold for the NDC. However, they feel their contributions and loyalty have not been adequately recognized at the national level.

Assemblyman for the Nkwanta West Electoral Area, William Kwaku Chameme, highlighted the significant role Nkwanta South has played in the party’s electoral successes over the years. He underscored that the constituency has consistently delivered votes for the NDC despite efforts by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“As such, it is only fair that our representatives are considered for key ministerial positions,” he stated.

Mr. Chameme emphasized that appointing a constituent from Nkwanta South, particularly the Member of Parliament (MP) Geoffrey Kini, would not only honor their loyalty but also enhance representation in government.

He stressed that Mr. Kini has been a dedicated advocate for the people of Nkwanta South, championing various developmental projects and initiatives aimed at improving the lives of constituents and strengthening the party.

Other NDC members added that the MP’s commitment to the party and the community has earned him respect and admiration among party members and residents alike.

They argued that appointing individuals from Nkwanta South as CEOs or to other key portfolios would bring much-needed attention to the challenges facing the area, including infrastructure development, education, and healthcare.

They have, therefore, appealed to the national leadership to recognize the loyalty and contributions of their constituency by considering MP Geoffrey Kini for a ministerial role, ensuring that the voices of Nkwanta South are heard in the corridors of power.
