Ellembelle MP and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has resolved a long-standing impasse within the Western Regional House of Chiefs during his inaugural visit and engagement with the chiefs on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
For nearly five years, the Western Regional House of Chiefs operated without executives to preside over meetings due to election disputes.
During the meeting, the Paramount Chief of the Nsein Traditional Area, Awulae Agyefi Kwame, expressed gratitude to Mr. Buah for his historic and tireless efforts.
He commended Mr. Buah for his humility, character, track record, and respect, as well as the approach he adopted to settle the impasse, which worked perfectly to reconcile the house.
Amidst the spirit of reunion, it was announced that Nana Kobinah Nketsia (V), Paramount Chief of Essikado Traditional Area, will lead the new executives as President. Representatives of the National House of Chiefs were also selected.
For Mr. Buah, it was a proud moment as a son of the land, stating that the achievement paves the way for lasting peace and unity in the region, essential for collective progress.
He also extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the paramount chiefs, queen mothers, and stakeholders who played pivotal roles in making the gathering highly productive.
Western Regional Minister Nominee, Joseph Nelson, who was also present, expressed excitement about the positive development. He noted that without Mr. Buah’s intervention, the dispute would have become a significant challenge for his administration.
