Sabelor Cultural Group is set to host the maiden edition of Celebrating Ghanaian Music & Culture, a musical event in Accra aimed at raising funds to support underprivileged yet talented students in selected basic schools within the Greater Accra metropolis.

The concert will feature a lineup of seasoned and award-winning cultural music groups, along with guest artists from some of Ghana’s most renowned ensembles.

While the leadership of the group has yet to announce the venue and date, they have assured the public that details will be released soon.

Under the leadership of Anthony Arthur, Sabelor Cultural Group, known for its exceptional musicianship, will use the occasion to express appreciation to its supporters for their continued encouragement and recent successes.

Comprising skilled drummers and singers, the group emphasized that traditional Ghanaian music and dance serve a greater purpose beyond entertainment.

They see it as a medium for education, cultural preservation, and community development, urging Ghanaians to embrace and support indigenous art forms.

Sabelor Cultural Group also highlighted the unique advantages of traditional music and dance over modern foreign influences, noting their accessibility and suitability for culturally significant gatherings.

One of the group’s lead singers, Linda Oduro, voiced concerns about the increasing prioritization of foreign songs and dances in schools, describing the practice as not representative of Ghanaian culture and calling for a stronger emphasis on indigenous cultural education.

With Celebrating Ghanaian Music & Culture, Sabelor Cultural Group aims to reinforce the importance of preserving Ghana’s rich musical heritage while supporting a meaningful social cause.
