Parliament of Ghana has officially approved Kofi Adams as the new Minister of Sports and Recreation.
His appointment, made by President John Dramani Mahama in January, was confirmed following a vetting process conducted by the Appointments Committee last week.
Mr. Adams, who currently represents the Buem Constituency in Parliament, addressed key issues during his vetting and pledged to enhance the country’s sports sector.
On Tuesday, February 4, the Appointments Committee’s report on his vetting was presented before Parliament and subsequently adopted, clearing the way for his approval.
With this endorsement, Kofi Adams is set to be sworn into office by President Mahama, officially assuming his role as Minister of Sports and Recreation.
He takes over from Mustapha Ussif, who served as the sector minister from 2021 to 2024 under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
