A community in Anambra State, Nigeria has been thrown into mourning after the shocking discovery of the lifeless bodies of three siblings in a deep freezer at their home.
The victims are Ejezie Chikaima Daviana aged 9, Ejezie Chimziterem Dominica, 7 and Ejezie Chimdilim David, 5.
The tragic incident occurred while their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, a lecturer and nurse, was away sitting for an examination.
Upon her return, she found the house unusually open, contrary to her children’s routine of locking the doors before stepping out to play.
According to their father, Mr. Ejezie Udochukwu, who works in Irrua, Edo State, his wife initially assumed the children were playing outside.
A search party was later organized when the kids couldn’t be located, including a visit to their church, where they served as altar assistants.
The devastating discovery came when the deep freezer in the house was opened, revealing the children’s lifeless bodies.
“The children were eating when the assailants stormed the house at about noon,” Mr. Udochukwu recounted. “There were traces of food in their plates that appeared to have been abruptly abandoned. I am completely devastated. My three children, murdered on the same day, and we still do not know who did this.”
The family lives in a bungalow shared with two tenants and the landlord. The gruesome incident has left neighbors and the entire community in shock, with many struggling to comprehend the brutality of the act.
The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the incident.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, has ordered a thorough investigation.
“The bodies have been recovered, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for a detailed probe,” he said.
