Vetting chaos: We’re not here to witch-hunt our colleagues – Committee

-

The seven-member committee probing the chaos during the vetting of ministerial nominees has assured that it is not on a witch-hunt mission.

Chairman of the committee, Emmanuel Bedzrah, emphasized that the probe is not intended to unfairly target any Member of Parliament (MP).

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Mr. Bedzrah, who is the Ho West MP, reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to a transparent and fair investigation.

“The committee would like to place on record that it is not part of its job to target or witch-hunt anyone. We’re not here to witch-hunt any of our colleagues or Members of Parliament. Our task is to find evidence of any MP who may have flouted the rules of engagement in this house,” he said.

He called on all stakeholders—including MPs, the media, and guests present during the vetting—to volunteer information that would promote peace and cooperation in Parliament.

The committee will begin public hearings on Wednesday, February 5, allowing individuals to testify openly.

Meanwhile, four MPs are currently serving a two-week suspension as a result of the chaotic incident.
