Mr Commey confirmed the return of all six vehicles when we contacted him, saying he was grateful to senior members of the government’s role in ensuring the timely release of the vehicles.

The seizure, described as “Rambo-styled,” was reportedly carried out on Friday, January 31, 2025, but as of Saturday, February 1, 2025, all vehicles belonging to Mr Commey that were taken away in the raid had been returned.

The swift return of the vehicles suggests that the government was keen to distance itself from the incident.

Lord Commey is a key member of the New Patriotic Party and has had a distinguished career in Ghanaian politics, serving as National Organizer, National Youth Organizer, Director of Operations at the Jubilee House as well as Director of Operations for the Nana Akufo-Addo campaigns in 2012 and 2016.
