All sporting disciplines will be given equal attention – Kofi Adams

The nominee for Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has promised that his leadership will prioritise all sports, not just football, should he be confirmed.

In the past, many Sports Ministers have placed significant emphasis on football, often overlooking other sports. However, Adams has committed to giving equal attention to every sporting discipline.

“We are going to focus more on other sporting disciplines that have not received the attention they deserve,” he stated during his vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Thursday, January 30.

Addressing concerns about his limited background in sports, Adams reassured the committee of his dedication to the sector.

“I know many Ghanaians are happy about my nomination. I will not disappoint them, I will not disappoint President John Dramani Mahama, and I will not disappoint myself,” he affirmed.

With his vetting now complete, Adams awaits approval from the Appointments Committee to officially assume the role of Minister for Sports and Recreation under President Mahama’s administration.
