Medeama SC’s newly appointed head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, has set his sights on leading the club to silverware.

Tanko joins the Yellow and Mauves on a two-and-a-half-year contract after parting ways with Accra Lions by mutual agreement.

He takes over from technical director Augustine Evans Adotey, who will return to his original role at the club.

In his first remarks since taking charge, the former Ghana international expressed confidence in a successful tenure at the new TnA Stadium.

“I hope we are all going to enjoy, and I’m sure the team will do well. I will tell them [the fans] that I will always give my best, and I’m sure at the end they will all be happy,” Coach Ibrahim Tanko shared in an interview with Medi TV.

He further emphasized his ambition to bring success to the club.

“We always want to be better. The success is there, and like I said, I’m here also to achieve something. So before the end of my tenure, I’m sure the cups will be more.”

Tanko’s first test as Medeama SC head coach comes on Sunday, February 3, 2025, when his team faces an in-form Legon Cities FC at home.
