Police are on a manhunt for two girls, reportedly aged between 10 and 16, who were captured on CCTV stealing.
The teenagers allegedly stole GHS 40,000 and gold from a gold-buying shop in Twifo Praso, Central Region.
CCTV footage shows the girls entering the shop around 11 a.m. under the guise of purchasing mercury for gold extraction.
Realizing the shop attendant was distracted, the older girl searched a drawer and took the cash and gold.
Moments later, the shop attendant returned and encountered the girls at the entrance as they proceeded to purchase the mercury without arousing suspicion.
It was only two hours later, when another customer came in to sell gold, that the attendant realized the money and gold were missing.
The shop attendant is urging the public to assist with any information that may lead to their arrest.
The police are working to identify and locate the suspects.
