In a heartfelt appeal to the government as a birthday message, the Chief of Gomoa Wassa, Nana Kow Arkoh Ansah V has called for immediate action to address the deteriorating state of the region’s road infrastructure, which he says has become a major hindrance to both economic growth and daily life.

The chief’s message, delivered with a sense of urgency, stressed the severe impact that the poor condition of roads is having on the community.

He noted that the worsening roads are not only making transportation of goods more difficult but are also obstructing access to essential services, creating a ripple effect that threatens the wellbeing of residents and businesses alike.

“The roads in our area are in urgent need of repair and upgrading. These roads are the lifeblood of our economy and of our daily activities. Without functional roads, it becomes increasingly difficult to transport goods, access health services, or even ensure the safe mobility of our people,” Nana Ansah V stated.

The chief’s appeal comes at a time when the people of Gomoa Wassa, along with many other communities across the country, are grappling with the challenge of crumbling infrastructure, which has long been a barrier to progress.

By calling for swift intervention, Nana Kow Arkoh Ansah V hopes to see tangible improvements that will not only enhance the region’s road network but also unlock opportunities for growth and development.

In addition to his call for road repairs, Nana Kow Arkoh Ansah V also stressed the importance of greater regional representation in government.

He urged the government to appoint qualified individuals from the Central Region to key positions, ensuring that the needs and aspirations of the people of Gomoa Wassa—and the region as a whole—are properly understood and addressed in decision-making processes.

“There is a need for qualified individuals from the Central Region to be adequately represented in government appointments. This will ensure that the unique challenges and needs of our people are given the attention they deserve,” he said.

As the chief’s message reverberates across the region, many are hopeful that his call for action will prompt a swift response from the government.

The residents of Gomoa Wassa, like many other communities, are ready for change and are looking to their leaders to deliver the infrastructure improvements and representation they need for a better future.
