Ebi Bright petitions High Court over Tema Central election results

-

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Tema Central, Ebi Bright, has filed a petition at the High Court challenging the election of Charles Forson as Member of Parliament.

Ebi Bright argues that the results declared in favor of Charles Forson do not reflect the true outcome of the polls.

According to her petition, results from three polling stations were riddled with irregularities, undermining the credibility of the Electoral Commission’s (EC) declaration.

She claims that while the original pink sheets from the three polling stations, held by the EC, bore the names and signatures of the presiding officers, the duplicates provided to the NDC did not.

Furthermore, she alleges discrepancies in the total number of votes recorded on the original pink sheets, which do not align with the total valid votes or total votes cast.

Ebi Bright is requesting the court to invalidate the results from the three disputed polling stations and overturn Charles Forson’s election as MP.

She has also asked the court to refer to the earlier results, which excluded the disputed polling stations, where she was declared the winner.

Alternatively, she is seeking a court order for a re-run of elections in the three affected polling stations.
