Ashanti Regional Minister-designate, Frank Amoakohene has said he will promote good governance with his social media influence.
He explained he has gained better understanding of the youth and been able to engage with them through Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.
During his vetting on Monday, Dr Amoakohene noted that such a strategy will foster development and inspire young people to participate in the region’s progress.
“In times past, when I was young, my father would send me to the community center, where they go to play, ‘Ludo’, ‘Dame’ among others. In recent times, those centers do not exist. There’s a new society known as social media, where we get the opportunity to share ideas and also to interact,” he said.
The nominee acknowledged that there has been an evolution of human interaction over the years.
“I want to assure the house that I’m not going to overly rely on social media. However, the platforms will be available so that the youth who would want to reach me can still send a message, and there will be a team there who will look at the messages and draw my attention, in order that I will be able to assist them when need be,” he added.
He further announced plans to maintain a responsive team to ensure effective readdress of concerns.
