Is your dress natural? – Diana Hamilton claps back at critic of her appearance

-

Ghanaian gospel musician Diana Hamilton has responded to a critic who questioned her “artificial looks”.

The comment came when a listener raised concerns about Diana Hamilton’s use of wigs, makeup, and other “artificial” items, asking if she agreed with some men of God who believe such things are inappropriate for gospel artists.

During an interview on Accra FM, host Nana Romeo read the message from the listener, who questioned Hamilton’s appearance and whether she shared the views of religious leaders who criticize makeup and wigs.

“Men of God say makeup is not good, wigs are not good, and so on. Do you agree with them? Because I know your hair is not your natural hair,” the listener asked.

In a witty response, Diana Hamilton turned the question back on the caller, humorously asking the host to check if the person was wearing “natural clothes.”

“Please ask him if he or she is wearing natural clothes?” Hamilton asked.

She then addressed the concern directly, saying that her wigs and makeup were personal choices funded by her own money, so they shouldn’t be a point of controversy for others.

“Tell him the wig I have on is for me, I bought it with my money,” she added.

When asked about whether women of God should adorn themselves with artificial items, Hamilton explained that people’s interpretations of the word of God vary, and each person’s faith and maturity is at a different level.

“I think the understanding of the word of God differs. And we have levels of faith, so it depends on the person’s faith and maturity. Therefore, I won’t say it is a bad thing. But it is an opinion, and if you form an opinion, you need somebody to talk you out of it if it won’t harm you… But the bottom line is it is a relationship with God, and you shouldn’t seduce someone with what you wear,” she stated.

Hamilton concluded, “If you choose to wear something, make sure it glorifies the goodness of God and aligns with the work we are doing. That’s the most important thing.”
