Kwasi Asante has expressed excitement after completing his dream move to Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko.
The former Simba FC and Hafia left-back joined the Porcupine Warriors on a one-and-a-half-year deal.
“Joining Kotoko feels like a homecoming for me. This is a club I’ve admired for years because of its history and passion. When the opportunity came, I didn’t have to think twice because I want to be part of something special here,” Asante told the club website.
“I know the fans have high expectations, and I’m ready to give everything I’ve got to meet them. Competition for places is part of football, and I welcome it because it makes us all better. I’m here to work hard, contribute to the team, and help Kotoko achieve its goals this season.”
Asante, a versatile player, is expected to add quality and experience to the club as they challenge for the 2024/25 league title.
Asante Kotoko has already recruited Kwame Opoku, Samson Eduku, Isaac Mintah, and Daniel Adrian Adjetey.
Having ended the first half of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League in 3rd place with 31 points, the Reds will hope to continue their impressive form when they face Karela United in the Matchday 18 game at the Baba Yara Stadium.
