Reboot Your Life Series: Money alone won’t guarantee a successful marriage – Relationship coach

-

Renowned relationship coach, Rev. Dr. Nana Yaa Prempeh, has emphasized that while money plays a significant role in marriage, it is not the ultimate determinant of success.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Reboot Your Life Series, she addressed the topic, Building a Good Family: Should Couples Have One Bank Account? and highlighted the importance of the “God factor” as the foundation of a strong marriage.

“Sex, finances, and communication also play crucial roles,” she noted, adding that communication is the lifeline of every marriage.

Dr. Prempeh advised couples to engage in open and honest discussions about their finances, recommending a joint account for household expenses while maintaining personal accounts.

However, she stressed that trust and mutual respect are essential for such financial arrangements to work effectively.

She cautioned couples against comparing their marriages to others, warning that such comparisons could create undue pressure and breed disrespect within their relationship.

According to her, transparency and respect for each other’s financial decisions are crucial to building a harmonious home.

“Men are the heads of the family, and it is their responsibility to ensure their wives are settled and their families well taken care of before attending to external matters,” she added.

Dr. Prempeh encouraged couples to make their marriages enjoyable rather than merely enduring them, urging them to nurture their bond with openness and mutual understanding.
