Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has called on his teammates to maintain their focus as they battle to keep their Premier League title aspirations alive.
The Ghana international shared his thoughts following Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Aston Villa on Saturday night.
Arsenal appeared dominant in the first half, securing a 2-0 lead with goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz. However, Villa mounted an impressive second-half fightback.
Youri Tielemans reduced the deficit with a fine strike before Ollie Watkins equalized, capitalizing on a defensive error by Partey to beat goalkeeper David Raya from close range.
Speaking after the game, Partey emphasized the need for self-belief and consistency in Arsenal’s pursuit of the title.
“To be at the top, you have to believe in yourself, focus, and improve. It’s about taking things one game at a time and ensuring we win,” Partey said.
“Our fans, players, and coach share a clear mindset: we want to be the best and compete with the top teams. The goal is to stay focused and perform at our highest level. The title race is competitive, but we must concentrate on ourselves,” he added.
The draw leaves Arsenal six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, who beat Brentford 2-0 earlier on Saturday and still have a game in hand.
Arsenal will now turn their attention to upcoming fixtures, hosting Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League before traveling to face Wolves in the Premier League.
