It was difficult stopping Kamaldeen Sulemana – Manchester United boss admits

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has acknowledged the difficulties his team faced in defending against Kamaldeen Sulemana during their 4-1 victory over Southampton on Thursday night.

The Ghana winger posed a significant challenge for the Red Devils throughout the match, making the most successful dribbles and frequently getting past Leny Yoro on Southampton’s left flank.

Although Amad Diallo’s impressive hat-trick within 12 minutes sealed the win for Manchester United, Amorim was quick to highlight the threat posed by the Black Stars forward.

“They [Southampton] did a very good job creating spaces between the lines,” Amorim said. “Their number 20 [Kamaldeen Sulemana], with a lot of space behind him, we had some difficulties stopping that player.”

Southampton initially took the lead through an own goal by Manuel Ugarte, following a flick from Tyler Dibling, before Amad’s hat-trick put the game beyond reach.

Kamaldeen was making only his third Premier League start of the season.
