Ashanti Regional Minister-designate, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, intends to undertake a thorough assessment of all uncompleted projects in the region before initiating others.
This is in carrying through President Mahama’s quest to ensure continuity of stalled projects.
“For my first few months in office, I’m definitely going to get a very solid framework to support the development of Ashanti region. We are going to do a holistic assessment of all uncompleted projects regardless of which government started them,” said Dr. Amoakohene in an interview with Nhyira FM’s Kwadwo Jantuah.
President John Mahama during the 2024 election campaign noted that government is a continuous process, hence the need to ensure projects started by previous administration are not abandoned.
“He started E-blocks. There were 13 of them in Ashanti but only 4 of them are functional since 2016. There’s supposed to be additional facilities by now since it’s been years,” he said.
The regional minister-designate stated that the funds used to start these stalled projects cannot go to waste.
“Lots of money was invested in these projects and they can’t be wasted. So for the next 6 months, we’ll do a holistic approach of all stalled projects,” he stated.
He believes the completion of these projects will help create more jobs for Ghanaians.
“When we went to campaign across the various communities, we realized most of our issues as Ghanaians are related to ‘bread and butter’ and helping the people’s businesses to thrive. When businesses thrive, the people can make money and take care of themselves and their families and will therefore not have any problems with the government. That is why we need to create jobs,” observed Dr. Amoakohene.
Dr. Frank Amoakohene also called on people of the region to support him as he starts his tenure in office.
