The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has begun the interview process for applicants aspiring to become Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Ashanti Region.

This exercise is part of the party’s efforts to select competent and visionary leaders who will drive development at the local government level. The process has drawn considerable interest, with party members from across the region actively participating.

Over three days, the selection committee will interview a total of 343 applicants representing all 43 metropolitan, municipal, and district areas in the region. The first day focuses on 11 MMDAs, with 88 aspirants undergoing rigorous vetting.

Regional party leaders have emphasized the importance of this exercise in ensuring the selection of individuals capable of implementing the NDC’s development agenda at the grassroots level.

Aspirants are expected to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the socio-economic challenges in their respective areas and present practical strategies to address issues such as unemployment, inadequate infrastructure, sanitation, education, and healthcare.

The NDC views the interview process as a critical step in identifying leaders who can transform their communities and contribute to the party’s overall vision for national development.
