President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Charles Kipo as the new Director-General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
The announcement, made on January 14, 2025, is part of a broader effort to strengthen Ghana’s national security framework.
Charles Kipo, an experienced intelligence and security expert, is tasked with overseeing NIB operations to ensure national safety and stability.
Mr. Kipo’s mandate includes leading initiatives to improve collaboration between intelligence agencies and other government bodies to address emerging security challenges.
In related appointments, President Mahama named Prosper Douglas Bani as National Security Advisor. Bani, a former Chief of Staff and Minister for the Interior, brings a wealth of governance and security expertise to the role.
DCOP Abdul-Osman Razak has been appointed National Security Coordinator, responsible for fostering a cohesive and strategic approach to security across the nation.
Additionally, retired COP Nathan Kofi Boakye has been appointed Director of Operations at the Presidency.
