The New Patriotic Party (NPP)-UK branch has dismissed claims of campaign fund mismanagement against its Chairman, Wofa K.
A statement signed by the Deputy Secretary, Felix Hamilton, labelled the claims as false, baseless, and urged they be disregarded.
The statement explained that during a Branch Executive Committee (BEC) meeting, the Chairman was given an opportunity to account for some funds that were secured.
“The Branch Chairman explained that the funds were used for the intended purposes as agreed with the sponsor. The funds were allocated to support a seven-week communications strategy targeting middle-class voters in Ghana, as detailed in the budget that was presented,” the statement read in part.
The statement added that he indicated no funds were diverted or misappropriated.
“A detailed budget breakdown confirms that all expenditures aligned with the campaign’s stated objectives. There were no cartel-like actions involved, as falsely claimed in the circulating allegations,” it noted.
Meanwhile, the NPP UK Branch remains steadfast in its commitment to transparency and accountability, which has become a core and fundamental principle.
