Owner and financier of Tema Youth Football Club, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer has expressed his gratitude to the football community for their support during his recent health ordeal.

The respected football administrator faced a serious illness last year.

In an interview with Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Palmer shared his experience, revealing that he had gone to the hospital to treat a boil, but his condition took an unexpected turn.

“I went to the hospital to treat a boil, but I was told I would need surgery, and it eventually turned into something more serious. It was only by God’s grace that I’m still here because it wasn’t easy,” Palmer explained.

He went on to thank the football community for their unwavering support during his time of illness, acknowledging how the kindness shown proved to him that he had made the right choice in his career.

“I’m deeply grateful to the football people for their help when I was unwell. They visited me regularly, and I truly appreciate everything they did for me,” he added.

Palmer also expressed his thanks to his family for their assistance. “Although I was conscious, I want to thank everyone who stood by me,” he said.

When asked about GFA President Kurt Okraku’s visit, Palmer mentioned, “I was told Kurt Okraku came to see me, but I didn’t see him. However, I know Kwesi Nyantakyi, George Afriyie, Kudjoe Fianoo, and others came to visit me while I was in the hospital.”

Additionally, Palmer revealed that several Black Stars players, including Joseph Paintsil and Joseph Larweh Attamah, also showed their support during his hospital stay.
